Men’s mental health is still something we don’t talk about enough. Many men grow up hearing they should stay strong or push through whatever they’re feeling. But ignoring stress or worry doesn’t make it disappear — it often makes things heavier.
Anxiety is a common challenge, even if it’s rarely acknowledged. When anxious thoughts start to build, it can help to pause, take a steady breath, and name what you’re experiencing. Bringing your attention back to the present moment by intentionally noticing things around you gives those thoughts less room to spiral.
Journalling can also be a powerful tool. Writing down what’s on your mind creates space between you and your thoughts, making them easier to understand and less overwhelming. It doesn’t need to be perfect — even a few lines can help you process what’s going on.
Simple habits support mental wellbeing too. Getting outside, staying active, and making time for hobbies all help release tension and boost your mood. Even small routines, like a short walk or a few minutes of movement, can make a noticeable difference over time.
Talking to someone you trust — a friend, a family member, or a professional — can also be incredibly grounding. Sharing what you’re going through lightens the load and reminds you that you don’t have to manage everything on your own.
